We take security seriously.

Our web app, app.pictalhealth.com, is a secure website hosted by a company called Render. With Render, your data is encrypted at rest and in transit. Learn more about Render’s security.

You own your data, of course! As it should be. We do not ever sell your data. We do not share your data without your written consent.

Pictal is not covered by insurance. But you may be able to get reimbursed for the cost of Pictal by submitting your receipt to your HSA/FSA plan provider.

Currently, you can export a PDF of your timeline and upload it to your patient portal or print it before your visit. You could also share your timeline on your device during the visit. In the future, you’ll be able to give access to your provider directly.

Clinicians have told us that the timeline is what they try to do in their head, when talking with patients.

While it can be overwhelming to look at very large timelines, it is better than digging through notes in the medical record or trying to look through a patient’s binder or typed-up report.

At this point we do not have an connection to pull in data from electronic health records (though it is in our future plans.)

We do often suggest that people not try to recreate all the data in their health record in Pictal, as not all of it will be important to your overall story (e.g. lab tests that are consistent over time.)

Health records are only part of your story. It may help to focus on what’s significant from your health records, and then build out the rest of your story around that information.

Not right now. We help you create a ‘bird’s eye view’ of your story. If you need to track symtoms in detail, we recommend using an app like Visible, Bearable, Pathize, or Folia.
